Level Layout
And now what you have all been waiting for... *= PRODIGY LEVEL
A1(1A year round): This is the lowest level. Reserved for the beginning barn babies.
B1*(1B year round): This is the next level from A1. This is also for barn babies. Last year this level had a 5 year old with better technique than your average 12 year old dancer.
B2*(2A year round): Another barn baby level. You can be in a prodigy level and not be from CPYB if you or your school is some how affiliated with CPYB.
B3-B5: Non-prodigy levels. Period.
B6**(2B year round): This is a great level to be in for the summer. It is a super intense focus on technique. This level gets Marcia Dale Weary and Leslie Hench often, and by the end of the summer it shows! The little girls from CPYB in this level are seven or eight. This is the first level at which pointe is offered. HIGHEST B LEVEL!
C1: Non-prodigy.
C2*(3/5 year round): By this level the little CPYB girls are eight or nine. Pointe is offered every day and this is the first partnering level. HIGHEST C LEVEL!
C3-C7: Non-prodigy.
D1*(Level 5 year round): HIGHEST D LEVEL! CPYBers are nine or ten by now. The little girls do four pirouettes in class sometimes. They start to get really good here. First blue-leotard level.
D2-D6: Non-prodigy.
E1: Non-prodigy.
E2*(Level 6 year round): These little CPYB girls range from ten to twelve and are mixed in with much older girls who show promise or have teacher connections.
E3**(7B year round): HIGHEST LEVEL IN THE PROGRAM! You have to see these kids to believe them. Some as young as eleven and the most gorgeous dancers you will find in the USA. True, pure classical training and artistic development at its best.
E4: Level for professionals on break (some pros are in E3) or dancers who are just older. Some have good technique but are older and their bodies are not really suited for ballet.
